Player Profile - Ashish Sibi

Ashish Sibi (born on 20th February, 2001) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for the I-League club Sudeva Delhi FC. 

Born in Rajouri Garden, Delhi, Ashish started playing cricket in his childhood before picking up football as a sport in 7th grade in order to get selected for the school football team. During his school days he started off as a midfielder and after being mesmerized by watching his school goalkeeper, he changed his position to play as a goalkeeper.

Known for his shot-stopping capabilities, top-notch reflexes and his command on the field, with a height of 183cm, he likes to hold the ball with his feet and is committed to save some shots for his team. He likes to save penalties during tight moments of the game.

During 2016, he started his youth career by joining Shastri FC in Dwaraka, Delhi. In 2017, he joined Sudeva Delhi FC’s academy. During his tenure with Sudeva Delhi, he had participated in Hero Youth League U-17’s in 2018-19 season. In 2019-20 season he had participated in the Hero Youth League for Under 18’s and also for the Delhi State League – Senior Division. His team became the champions in the State League where he was awarded as the best goalkeeper. After his promising performances with Sudeva’s Youth Team, he was promoted to the senior squad where they were the latest entrants of the concluded I-League 2020-21 season.
