Jewel Jose basically is a B-Tech graduate in Computer Science from Govt. Engineering college Thrissur and has Worked in IT industry for 2 years after his studies. After these years he resigned his job and decided to pursue his passion. Jewel Jose then joined for PG Diploma in Football Management, a 1 year long course from Skillanation Institute which comes under Western India Football Association, Maharashtra. During this course, he was exposed to both the management side and on-ground experience of football. He got an oppurtunity to work for I-League and Golden Baby League with Mumbai City FC during this period. Just after the course there was a 3 month internship, which didn't happen due to the lockdown imposed after Covid-19 spread. Later, Jewel joined AIFF for his internship and during his tenure he worked in the AIFF Head quarters, Delhi and also became a part of Indian Super League, in Goa. After his Internship he applied for the Team Manager post in Kerala United FC and got selected.
Jewel Jose, Gold medalist from WIFA Skill and Nation, sees the oppurtunity to manage KUFC as a occassion to build a club from scratch. The club aims for a gradual growth starting from the Kerala Premier League and finally to reach Indian Super League, the top division by the promotion system. Even though, KUFC is capable of Corporate entry to I-League second division with the owners being that of Sheffield United's, they will go for a gradual progress. Club will play in KPL first and to qualify for I-League second division. Jewel loved this vision and he is really looking forward for a sustainable growth of club. The club would like to start from grassroot levels and to contribute something for Indian and Kerala football.
The current Covid situation has an impactful effect on a club's routine. KUFC is also facing such challenges like fitness issues of players etc. Jewel hopes that he could help club in this tough situation.
"My main aim is to bring professionalism on all aspect of the club. In Indian Football, most of the clubs lack a proper system and sometimes depend solely on an individual, that should be changed. As a team manager, I will stand up for the Club's dream to play in ISL and would like to provide all the help from the Management side. Along with this, I aim for the overall growth of club, which will contribute to the development of a footballing ecosystem in Kerala."- says Jewel Jose, about his aims and goals to achieve with Kerala United FC.
