Q. You played the last season in Mohun Bagan and became the champion. Your performance was highly appreciated. The fans expected to see you in ISL this season, but you joined RoundGlass Punjab FC in the I-League. What made you choose Punjab FC ?

Beitia: "I joined Punjab fc because they showed a lot of faith and interest in me. It's a great club with an amazing prospect and I think it's the best place for me to show my qualities. I loved the philosophy and approach of RGPFC and decided to commit myself to the Club. There was no looking back or at any other option."

Q. What are your expectations from RoundGlass Punjab under Curtis Fleming this season?

Beitia: "My expectation is to win back to back I-League titles. As a team, we will give our best to win the title. We have the great Curtis Fleming as our Head Coach. I am thoroughly benefiting and enjoying training with him. It is only making us all players better at the game. RGPFC is committed to getting us the best footballing facilities and training not only in the country but at par with the global standards. What more can one ask for?"

Q. You played with Kibu last season, now he is the coach of Kerala Blasters and yet to win a game even after 6 matches. What do you have to say about playing under Kibu and his style of football?

Beitia: "Kibu is a great coach. I know they are not having a good time but I think they can turn it around. We didn't start well in the last season either, but in the end we only won the title. They need to adapt his style of play. I was very comfortable with him because he improved me as a player and as a person."

Q. You and Fran had a good chemistry in Mohun Bagan. Who do you think will be your "partner in crime" this season?

Beitia: "The truth is that I have great chemistry with all my teammates and I hope we can achieve the goal together."

Q. How much do you like playing football in India? How is the training going on with all the restrictions?

Beitia: "I feel comfortable playing in India and since I came here, it has been my second home. Training is going well with all the restrictions. We are getting ready for the season. It’s a new I-League team and there is no pressure on us. We have a young team and we want to be competitive."

Q. How do you rate the changes in Indian football ? The grassroots projects are creating new young talents. In what way should Indian players improve?

Beitia: "India has some great young talents. In fact we have some brilliant players in our team and the Academy as well. I think the most important thing is determination – which we have in us. Under the able guidance from Head Coach Curtis, we are only getting better at our game. Here in RoundGlass Punjab, the best thing is that we live, train and have fun as a family. There is a lovely bonding in a very happy space, that helps us be at our best."
