6 reasons Why Kerala Blasters are the best contenders for this year's qualifiers!

With a woeful finish from last year performance, the yellow's have learnt a new lesson which made them realize their flaws and future upgrades for the next season of Hero ISL 2020-21. “Never give up policy” is always a chief moto for the Kochi based club who was the two-time finalist for the Hero Indian Super League, with that in mind an overall structural changes were happening after their last kickoff. We have seen many departures especially the poster boy Sandesh Jinghan and their top scorer Bartholomew Ogbeche who won't be donning the yellow jersey next season. These are the 6 reasons which make Kerala Blaster FC the top contenders for this year ISL qualifiers

1. The arrival of a Sporting Director Karolis Skinkys

It is an unusual post in the Indian Super League, appointing a Sporting Director who will be having all the supreme authority for the footballing activities done by the club from recruitment to the final results. The Lithuanian has a great CV and a great track record from Europe managing FK Suduva and qualifying them for the Champions League for the first time since its existence.

2. I-League winning coach Kibu Vicuna

For the mariners, Kibu Vicuna is a name which is close to their heart. With the merged entity ATKMB, Kibu couldn’t find a fit in the team as he opened his opportunities in India, Karolis found him as the perfect replacement for Eelco Schattorie who couldn’t sail the ship perfectly. The Spaniard has an excellent stats managing Mohun Bagan winning their 2nd Ileague title on the first year since inception.

3. Most Valuable foreign Squad

After a long time the recruitments for Kerala Blasters has been outstanding, they roped Gary Hooper from A-League the most valuable centre forward in the league, Zimbabwean defender Costa Nhamoinesu and Bakary Kone from Burkino Faso to duo the wall of defence. To bolster their attacking Argentine Facundo Pereyra and Jordan Murray will be in charge. Spaniard Vicente Gomez was been signed for 3 years to general the midfield.

4. Retaining the promising talents and balanced recruitments

Giving long year contracts for the talents like Sahal Abdul Samad, Rahul K P, Nishu Kumar, and Abdul Hakku gives a clear indication that, they are on the right path for the silverware. With the addition of young talents like Sandeep Singh, Denechandra Meitei, Nongdamba Naorem and Ritwik Das from I-league will strengthen the roster.

5. Academy to the final squad

Blasters academy products are always been surprisingly well and now its their chance to wake up and fill the boots for the club. Ayush Adhikari, Givson Singh Moirangthem, Shaiborlang Kharpan and Naorem Mahesh Singh got a chance to prove what they have taught and what they are born for. From the last 6 seasons Blasters has produced 3 young promising talents for the Indian National team.

6. Promising words from the Management

We all know that all these years the management was giving them the promise of bringing the trophy to Kochi, but it’s different this year from the words of Nikhil Bhardwaj owner of Kerala Blasters and Karolis Skinkys their prime motto is to play beautiful football and primary priority is to reach the qualifiers which they believe, with all these preparations and changes made they will make their way to the qualifiers this season.

If things fall properly for the Kochi based outfits this will be a season for them to cherish and make the fans proud of their club. As player injuries are the main concern for them and they have the expertise to look into, also this season the yellow army wont be there to cheer them as all the matches will be in the closed stadium. We believe it’s the best chance for them to crown their reign.
